Well, we got the keys to a new house this morning! We have been having problems with our neighbors and neighborhood so they are allowing us to transfer into a new house! Yea. Naturally it is supposed to rain tomorrow when are moving in, so please pray that it doesn't rain on our stuff. More later, but we are hoping this is a good thing!

In Other news

Well, yesterday Kara got her first haircut. We just did her bangs but it is cute. Yes, I know the cut is at an angle she moved toward the scissors as I was cutting. Fun times. But Andy says she looks like a little girl now instead of a baby. I will try to get a better after picture so you can see how adorable it really is. Enjoy!

Spring Break!

Well, I really enjoyed Aaron's spring break in San Antonio, I just wish I had been feeling better. We did get to go to Ava's baptism which was quite nice. Ava looked so cute in her little dress and pigtails.

Kara demonstrated that she knew her numbers by yelling out FOUR when she looked at my playing cards. I think that's why I never won cards this visit.
Aaron was quite the big brother he was looking out for Kara and Ava on the playground and at the zoo. He is a helper! I think the three kids had fun playing together!
Aaron loved playing with everybody and Kara was really talking once she got used to everyone. Our flight back was thankfully uneventful. Still couldn't get a Delta representative to help me with the car seat or kids, but that's what cut backs get you I guess. I just wish we had had more time to visit, and of course my favorite eat out!

We love to fly and it shows?????

Kids on a Plane!
Well, our flying experience last Friday was not fun at all. We get to the big ol Dothan airport and check in and I asked if Andy could help me with the car seat and getting the kids on the plane. The lady said oh no don't worry we will help you with it. O.k. so we get checked in and wait for a bit then we have to get through security and even in a small airport it is a hassle with two kids a stroller and a car seat. We also had the diaper bag so full that they had to search it separately because he couldn't see everything in it. Hm.. I was trying to pack just one carry on since I had the car seat and stroller. Apparently as we were going through security the TSA guy told Andy why don't you go get an escort pass. So he went back to the counter to ask and the lady said sure. So when I asked her earlier I didn't have the right term or something. Anyway so after we made it through security, which took a bit because I had to catch Kara from running away, get Aaron to go through, etc. Andy went through. Not in time to help us but we still got to visit longer so that was nice. Then when we were getting to load the plane, the lady (gate agent) who was going to help me smiled and me and left and never came back. So Andy held the kids so I could fold the stroller and gate check it then he loaded me up with the diaper bag, Kara and the car seat and we walked on the tarmac to the awaiting plane. When we got to the top of the stairs of the plane I had Aaron and Kara go ahead of me, I figured they couldn't get off without passing me, and lugged our stuff to our seats. They of course had Aaron sitting in a different row, they always do, so I asked a guy if he could switch so I could see Aaron during the flight. He was annoyed but moved. Then the lady and child next to me offered to switch so Aaron could be right next to me so that was really, really nice. After that we had a nice pleasant flight to Atlanta.
When we arrived in Atlanta we were again the last people off the plane, but fortunately they had a ramp up to the aircraft and I didn't have to do the steps again. I still had to hold Kara, the car seat and the diaper bag up the jet way until they got the stroller but oh well. We found some elevators so that was nice and our next plane was two gates from our arriving gate. I thought to myself that was too easy. And of course it was. After we sat down our plane was delayed 20 minutes. No biggie, there was a little house that the kids played in so that was nice. Then our plane was delayed another hour, so we went to get the kids some food. Then they changed the time to another hour (yes, we are at two hours and 20 minutes late). Then there were apparently lightening strikes because they closed the airport for another hour, but we were to stay at our gates because as soon as it was re-opened our planes would take off. Then they changed our gate so we picked up and moved. Then another delay and gate change so we had to move again. Meanwhile the later flight to San Antonio left without a hitch and our flight was still in limbo. About midnight Delta decided to give us meal vouchers, a whole seven dollars a person and only one food place was open. Now 7 bucks does not go far at the airport but Aaron and I had a nice half sandwich each. Meanwhile the people on our flight were getting to know everyone and they were playing peek-a-boo with Kara and talking with Aaron about Transformers so that was nice. Finally our plane left after 1:30am. It was supposed to leave at 8:04! It was quite a delay. We finally made it to San Antonio about 3:30am and were exhausted. I was quite upset with Delta since I had paid full price for 3 tickets and our plane left 5 1/2 hours after it was supposed to. Ugghh. The kids were really, really good the whole time so that was a blessing. Needless to say I am not looking forward to the flight back.

Aaron's K'nex

I was cleaning out my teacher stuff and found some old K'nex so Aaron put them together he was quite proud of himself. He did pretty good!

Outsmarting the smarter?

Aaron cracks me up yet again. He is learning about time in school and he brought home a worksheet and I try to go over the things that he brings home. Well, as we are going through the paper I notice a shape near the top. I asked him what it was and he told me he was trying to make a star. Hm...well, on the other side is a star near the top from the teacher. I asked him are you trying to make the teacher star? Well, he said, I did it all RIGHT, so I needed a star. So he was making the teacher star before she came over to look at it. Very observant.
Also, he was excited yesterday when I picked him up. "Do you know what? I tied Darson's shoe. He needed someone to tie it and I know how to tie shoes so I did! Darson did the first part because he knows that part." It was too cute. Now that he has mastered shoe tying, he is tying everyone else's shoes!

Lace Boy?

Well, it is official. My little boy can tie shoelaces. He has been agonizing over this for weeks and never wanted to practice. Well, last night we forced him to practice and it took a few tries and a lot of tears but he got it. If you tie laces in P.E. you can sign your name on the poster and then you don't have to do it again. He has been wanting to sign the poster for a while but, again, never wanted to practice. He gets frustrated if he doesn't get it on the first try. He gets that from me. Anyway so this morning before school we practiced again and he did it all by himself while I was getting Kara's shoes on. So hopefully this afternoon he will be able to tell me he signed the poster that says, I can tie my shoe laces! Very neat. My little boy is growing up. :)

A Loquacious Bunch

Well, the kids have been quite adorable the past few days. Sorry no pictures of Aaron. I can't get him to be still long enough to take a picture. When I try he moves so they are blurry. Anyway, Kara is saying more words and she is correctly telling me what things are yellow. She pointed out yellow in the store without me prompting her ! Wow she also points out the number three in books although she calls it tree. Sometimes however it is quite frustrating to talk with her. The other day she said, more. So I said more what. So she said it louder, More. More what, I asked. So she screamed MORE. More what? MAYMAY, she said, (which is how she says banana). So I hold up the banana. She looks at me and very sweetly said, All done. Ughh. She has also discovered crackers. Not only does she eat them but she mashes them into the tray. Anyway when she wants a cracker she goes, Quack, Quack, Quack. I've tried telling her they are crackers but she likes to say quack quack quack.

Aaron is getting to be quite the interviewer. He asked me, "Mama, if you could be one Transformer, who would you be and why?" I felt like I was in the CoolMom Pagent and this question would determine who got the crown! Also, the other day, and I don't see how we even make it to school on time because Aaron is always doing something. I found him just lying on the floor with only a shirt on. I reminded him he is not supposed to walk around without underwear on. He told me, "But I'm NOT walking!" O.k. you have me there kiddo. Another getting ready for school story. I peeked in his room to check on him and he had his jammie pants just below his rear and he was by the window drinking his water. So he was taking off his pants and mid strip he waddled over to the window to get a sip of water! Short attention span! I thought i was scatterbrained!

So as always I am just exhausted by the end of the day trying to mentally keep up with the kids.

Basket Case

As you can see I was doing a bit of laundry on Monday. I was trying to get a picture of Kara like the one we have of Aaron in the laundry basket but she didn't want to. I will have to try and find that picture to do a comparison.

Nothing too thrilling happened. I did get three bags of clothes out of the house and to the thrift shop so that's good. Still no word on the move yet but we will keep you posted on that.

We watched dancing with the stars and the kids always dance so that's fun. It's interesting to see what they do. Aaron usually just goes wild, Kara will actually bop around to the music.

Enjoy the pictures.
