Visiting with GiGi (June 20th)

Saturday we got to visit with GiGi before we went to the reunion.

First we took some pictures. Aaron took a few also, one actually really good. Aaron also took a picture of GiGi's painting (he was aiming for Kara), a picture of the lens cap hanging down (he was trying to take a picture of Andy's shoes and he took a picture of me scolding him so I look very silly in it.

Then Kara got out her tea party stuff. She gave them cups but didn't fill them. There were only two cookies so we had to share. Later, GiGi was sipping and said, That's good milk. Kara walked over took GiGi's cup and looked down in it. Then Kara looked up at GiGi and said, "There's no milk in this cup."

It was a short visit but very nice.

Space Center Houston

Well, on June 13th we went to the Johnson Space Center in Houston with Uncle Corky. It was very crowded so we had to wait for a few things. They had a George Lucas display with highlights from his movies.

Here is Kara with R2D2.

There was also an Indian Jones Jumperoo that the kids went on. Andy, Corky and the kids tried to land the space shuttle. I believe Andy was the only one that was successful. We also went on a tram tour of the grounds. We got to see a mock up of the International space center, where the astronauts practice working in the tight spaces. Then we went to see a Saturn V rocket. Very neat but Kara again thought it was broken.

I'm not really sure what this was for but Aaron was making funny faces so I took a picture.

I wish we had more time but we had to get on the road and the children were tired. I hope we can go back sometime because there was a lot more to see.

Crossing Over

Saturday night we went to Aaron's crossing over ceremony. It is where they officially become wolves. It was really neat. They held it at a state park about an hour away. We took a nice drive through the country.

Here are the tigers ready to become wolves:

Here is the new handbook. It took forever for my camera to take the picture so the smiles are gone.

Here's Aaron scouting out the new handbook:

We didn't bring chairs so I sat down on the ground so Kara would have a lap. Well, she would pop down and then hop up and walk around. Sit for two seconds the pop up and move around. So I just stood up. She looked at me and said, "You be a chair!" Funny. So Andy sat so Kara could sit. She sat for two seconds and got up, then turned and looked at Andy and said, "You stay there. I be right back!"
On the way back the kids were hungry so I passed some granola bars back. Aaron was very nice and shared with Kara, so I gave him a second one. I told him I was glad he was sharing and he said, "Well, I wouldn't need the second one if Kara hadn't hogged the first one!"

Then yesterday i was talking on the phone and Kara ran in and very excitedly told me, "Daddy isn't dead!" So I figured I should get off the phone and check it out. Turns out they were just wrestling, but it made me laugh.
