Snoring, school supplies and silliness

Well, Nana and Papa left Thursday after swimming lessons. All week they had been helping with swimming lessons, so this week the teacher will be short handed. The kids in Aaron's class this time are interesting. More outgoing than the last class and there are more of them. About seven kids in the class. We shall see how today goes. Here's Aaron with his teacher:

When Kara got up Friday, she looked at me and said, "Nana hug?" I told her that Nana went bye bye. So she said, "oh" Then a pause, then, "Papa hug?" I told her Papa went bye bye with Nana and she huffed in answer. She was not pleased that they had left. Later on Friday I told her she wasn't allowed to do something and she gave me a real mad face and screamed, "NANA!" So we know who's really in charge now.
We went school supply shopping for Aaron. He has about twenty items on his list and he's only in the first grade. Yikes. We had to look through the pencils and get the sparkly ones, because the plain yellow just won't do. Kara's favorite supplies were the eraser pencil tops. She was shaking them in the cart the whole time we were shopping. Another thing I didn't realize was that school supplies were so expensive. I finally found the primary journals, which are like composition books, but have more space so they can write bigger. Over two dollars for just one book. Ughh. I am just cheap I guess.
Friday was also a long day because Andy had to get up early and he got home late. This was after flying Thursday night, so the kids were interesting. Aaron wanted to play on the computer, but he had already watched tons of t.v. so I told him no. He responded with, "But I haven't gone on Transformers.com in like, 60 years!" Later he and Kara were wanting the same toy, so Kara got annoyed and threw it. I saw Aaron's arm come up but then it stopped and was wavering. In that time Kara smacked him and got in trouble. I asked Aaron if he hit Kara too, since I saw his arm move and stop. He told me, "No, but I really wanted to. My brain said hit her, but then I said no." He was arguing with himself and that why his arm was wavering. It's not funny that they want to hit each other, but his arm wavering while he is having an internal argument struck me as funny. I had to turn away so he wouldn't see me laughing. When Andy did get home he was really tired with only 3 hours sleep so he sat on the couch. Kara eased him to the floor and said, "no daddy, get off." Then she told him, "I sorry Daddy. I want blanket there."
Saturday we didn't do too much. We went to the commissary and Aaron was being quite hyper. He was bugging me and I told him, Don't. Then I said, Hold on to the basket, to keep him from running around. So he of course said, "don't hold on to the basket. O.k. mama. I won't." Then he gave me the sweetest smile as he was away from the basket. He is too smart for his own good. Kara was playing with her little plates and had them lined up on the stairs with real food on them, like a restaurant. Hm..She also gave Andy an empty plate and when Andy started to eat the plate, Kara got very serious and said, "No, Daddy. Don't eat the plate."
Sunday I got up with Aaron and we made cinnamon bites. Then we heard Kara and Andy were awake so we went upstairs and gave Andy his presents to open. The kids were very excited and really liked playing with the paper. We took Andy to lunch at Logan's and had a very tasty meal. We also went in search of a computer, but still haven't found one we like. I think we will just be using this laptop forever. Oh well. It could be worse. Sunday we also noticed we had no dial tone, so Andy called and they are supposed to come fix it today. We shall see. While we were driving Sunday Aaron was making a lot of noise so Kara told him to, "calm down." What a helper.
Also the housing people, planted trees in our neighborhood. There is a cute little oak tree in front of our house. Aaron wanted to call it Oakley, but Andy wanted to call it Barkley. Aaron misunderstood and kept saying Broccoli. So now we have Oakley Broccoli in our front yard. I think it sounds like it need a roman numeral after the name, but that may be too fancy for an army tree. I do like the trees though. It makes the neighborhood look nice. (of course that could be why our phone is out, from the digging.)
Here's Us walking through the neighborhood, you can see where they started planting the trees up the road.
Oh, I forgot that all day Sunday Aaron was walking around snoring loudly and saying, "Don't I sound like Papa?"

What's new with us?

Well, Nana and Papa are visiting and the kids have been hilarious. Here is a few of the kiddisms that are making us laugh:

We had a rich sausage one night and Aaron asked, "Does it have a lot of money?"
Kara's new phrase is: "I'm making noise!"
When the Aaron started repeating everything I said I had to come up with a new phrase when I was upset,
so I always say peter, Paul and Mary. It just makes me feel better when I am mad. So now Aaron is starting to say it, but the other day he added to it. Aaron was mad that I told him to get dressed and he said, "Peter, Paul and Mary and Crap!" What did you say? I asked him. "Peter, Paul and Mary and crap!" So there was no mistaking he said my catch phrase and crap. So i had to explain that saying crap is not nice so that's why mama says Peter, Paul and Mary. Oh, o.k. he said. Aaron also told us the other day, "Sometimes I need time alone. It's not that I don't like Kara, I just can't hear!" :D

We got Aaron a toy for his birthday because it was on sale he saw us buy it. So we have left it downstairs so he can look at it until his birthday. It's been down there a week or so. We went shopping Friday and they had tons of toys on clearance so we bought some Lego's (I have a weakness for Lego's) So the next morning Aaron woke me up with this. "Mama, could you put those other Lego's next to the optimus gun and then put up a sign saying The Museum, since I can look but not open them yet." That cracked me up.

We were trying to get Kara to go downstairs, but she wanted to play in her kitchen upstairs so she got in my face to make sure I understood and said, "I'm making, I'M Ma-King!" Later she wanted Nana to read to her and said, "Read book, Nana. Read book." I told her Nana was still eating. Kara got on her tiptoes, craned her neck and peered into Nana's plate to look for food. It happened to be empty. So Kara put a knowing smile on her face, nodded once and slowly said, "Read book."

Papa was teasing Aaron and telling him the thing on the back of the car was called a Nana not a spoiler. So I was explaining to Aaron that a person who spoils you is someone who does what ever you want and gives you whatever you want. Kara walked in and just heard my explanation and said, "Nana!"

Kara was being tickled and she came up with a whole sentence. "Papa you're tickling me, STOP IT!" Also, when we were listening to Along Came Jones, Kara kept repeating, "and then, and then, and then, and then, and then."

Well, some of you may know why Nana and Papa are here, but for those who don't, i had a biopsy on Friday and we were not sure how I would feel this week for Aaron's swimming lessons. Well, I actually don't feel that bad so that's good, but won't get the results for two weeks, so I am worrying a bit. Oh well. So as soon as I know the results I will let everyone know. Thank you for all the prayers and well-wishes. They made me feel so much better. If you would like to know the graphic details of what is wrong I am posting an explanation after the pictures. For those who don't want to know that much about me, just know I'm having girl issues.

O.k. the graphic details. I have been having my period every three weeks since January. I thought it was just stress but it isn't going away. In June it was every two weeks so I decided to see the doctor. I had an ultrasound and they found an ovarian cyst which was causing the pain, but not the bleeding. So they didn't see anything else so they decided to do an endomitrial biopsy to make sure Cancer was not causing the bleeding. Her other thought is that I am peri-menopausal. Woo Hoo. So on Friday they did the biopsy and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I am a bit sore but other than that fine. Just waiting on the results and where to go from there. In addition to the biopsy, they are also slowing siphoning my blood, o.k. they are just taking samples but goodness, I keep telling them to save some for me. They are trying to see if my hormones or anything else could be causing problems. No results on that yet either. So there is all I know for now. Not sure what is going on but hopefully it is something that is easily fixed. I hope that all made sense, if not e-mail me with questions. I'm not shy.

Vacation for the fourth!

Well, we had a very nice vacation in San Antonio, but it was also very busy. Next time we need to plan some rest time after the vacation. On Sunday we went to church and Kara sang very loudly, after the song was over. At least she is participating. Then we had a fajita dinner and got to visit with Bean and Bob, Gigi and Corky so that was very nice. Monday we went swimming at Blossom which was interesting. I remember the pool being a lot bigger and a lot deeper than it actually was. Aaron and Kara enjoyed showing Nana, Papa and Daddy all they had learned in their swimming classes. Then we had a birthday celebration for Aaron at Alamo Cafe. He really liked that and they even sang happy birthday and gave him some ice cream. It was nice and I got a bit teary. Tuesday was interesting because we went to Sea World. Aaron and Andy really liked it, but I was quite disappointed. They had the same shows and didn't have the same times they had posted on their web site, so we were there during Kara's nap time and she didn't enjoy that. Oh well. Wednesday we went to eat in La Vernia and visited with Carolyn, Dave, Emily and Great Grandma. That was neat. I loved the food and the company. Emily learned more than she ever wanted to know about Transformers from Aaron.

Then Wednesday night we got to visit with Edwin, Rebeca, Ricky, Ruth, Elvera and Rod. The kids, Andy and I played in the pool with Edwin and Rebeca and then we got to eat a wonderful dinner. Spaghetti, yummy!

Thursday Andy and I got to see a movie by ourselves, a real treat for us. We saw Get Smart and it was really funny! Friday we had a Fourth of July celebration with Nana, Papa, BeanGeen and Bob, Michael, Laura and Ava. That was really fun too, because the kids got to swim in the wading pool. They were so funny. Kara kept jumping, Ava kept trying to get out and Aaron did a lot of splashing. It was a very nice time. Saturday we flew back to Alabama and because of a three and a half hour delay got home quite late. Oh well. We really enjoyed the vacation, but we were all really tired when we got back. I'm glad we got to see most everyone and hopefully we will see them all soon.

At the Airport on Saturday
I actually had more pictures of the kids with Gigi, Corky and Alamo cafe but left them on the computer in San Antonio. So hopefully I can get those posted later this week.
Sorry these pictures are so far behind. Kara had a double ear infection and we didn't get medicine for it until Wednesday. I just thought she was tired from the trip so Wednesday we finally went to the doctor. Poor girl. She doesn't like taking the antibiotics so it's been a challenge. Every day we try something different, but she never ends up getting all the medicine in. She is very good at spitting and I have had to clean my glasses after every single dose so far! Yikes. So no pictures from this past week. Hopefully next week i can get some pictures of Aaron at swimming lessons. We shall see if the weather cooperates with that.

Kara has a double ear infection, so no pictures or stories until she gets better.
